A new Interstate Treaty to regulate gambling in Germany (“Glücksspielstaatsvertrag”) came into effect on 1st July 2021.
Run It Once Poker is planning to apply for an operating licence. In the meantime, we will continue to operate on the basis of “toleration requirements” which we had implemented last year, as per below.
We are not making any changes beyond those that we launched in December 2020. It is possible that this might change if and when details of additional requirements become clear.
At this time, Run It Once Poker is covering the applicable gaming tax without any increase in rake / decrease in rewards etc. However, this is subject to further monitoring and review.
If anything changes, we will inform all the affected players.
Due to regulatory developments, starting on Thursday, October 15th, Run It Once Poker will need to temporarily suspend its service to residents of Germany.
A new Interstate Treaty to regulate gambling in Germany (“Glücksspielstaatsvertrag”) will come into effect in July 2021. This will require all operators who accept players residing in Germany to be licenced under the new treaty’s regulations.
On 30th September 2020, the 16 states have published “toleration” requirements for operators who wish to continue operating in Germany between 15th October 2020 and July 2021.
These guidelines include several technical and operational requirements which Run It Once Poker has already started to implement. Unfortunately, while this implementation is being worked on, we need to temporarily suspend our services for players residing in Germany.
From 15th October until full compliance of all requirements (which we estimate to take between one and two months), you will not be able to deposit or play on Run It Once Poker. During this time period, your funds will remain safe. Withdrawing your balance is not mandatory, but you will still be able to login and request a withdrawal through our cashier at any time.
We will be pausing all active Welcome Bonuses and Legends Four Week Streaks, which means players will resume these promotions in their current state once we reopen.
Upon reopening our services in Germany, there are a few new requirements we must follow:
- All players will need to verify their identity and address.
- A deposit limit of 1,000 EUR per month will apply to all players.
- Our table cap will be set to four instead of six.
- Information about wins/losses during the last 30 days upon log-in.
- A 24-hour self-exclusion button on every table.
- An hourly update alert which must include a mandatory acknowledgment.

Yes! During this down-time, players will still be able to login to their account and access our cashier. Players can leave their funds in their accounts or login and request a withdrawal at any time during this period.

Currently, the regulation does not allow increases beyond 1,000 EUR per month, However, this might change in the future.
Once we have an updated timeframe on our return, we will use various mediums to get the announcement out. We will update our website, email players who have opted into marketing communications, and make numerous public announcements on our social media accounts.
Players will not lose out on their Welcome Bonuses. We will be pausing all active first-time deposit bonuses and resuming them once we reopen.
We will be pausing Four Week Streaks and resuming them once we reopen. The final Legends week we will take into account is the week of October 5th through October 11th. This means players resume their Four Week Streak progress from this date once we reopen our services.
